Prior to its development for human therapy, our DNA delivery technologies were extensively tested in animals. Research scientists have published numerous papers detailing favorable results in many species and covering a broad range of disease indications. Animal health encompasses two distinct market segments: livestock, or animals bred and raised for food or other products, and, companion animals, or pets. Serving the animal health markets requires specialized manufacturing facilities and distribution channels beyond our current capacity, and therefore we have licensed certain rights to utilize our DNA delivery technologies for development and commercialization of specific vaccine candidates to Merial and Aqua Health.
